Epic Systems has been appraised at level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Certification for Software Development. CMMI is a capability improvement framework that includes software industry best practices such as project management, process management, systems engineering, hardware engineering, software engineering, and other supporting processes used in the development and maintenance of software products and projects.
An appraisal at maturity level 3 indicates that organization is performing at a “defined” level where processes are well characterized and well understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools and methods. The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for maturity level 3, is established and improved over time.

Epic Systems is an ISO 9001:2015 certified company which is an internationally recognized standard based on several quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach, and continual improvement. To prepare for the audit, the Epic Systems technology team spearheaded by CTO Krishna Marreddy conducted a rigorous assessment of Epic System’s existing quality management practices and created a roadmap for alignment with the ISO 9001:2015 standards. Collaborating for over a month with ISO approved auditors from Concept QA Labs, Epic team executed all activities identified in the plan by creating and revising corporate quality management artifacts to cover all phases of the service delivery lifecycle and worked with corporate process owners across the organization to implement the new QMS.
