We are seeking to hire a Senior Data Engineer with experience in Oil and Gas or Petrochemicals for an onsite role in Houston, TX.

This is a 12+ month project with the possibility of multiple extensions. 

The selected candidate will be required to work on-site on day 1.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Ensure consistency of data systems, tools, and architectural best practices across the organization, driving adoption across our teams and systems

Design, build, and maintain data pipelines. Work with large data sets, developing repeatable and scalable data products and services that meet business requirements

Accountable for building an integrated data foundation that connects cross-functional data across the lifecycles of our assets to provide a 360-degree view of data to deliver insights and predictions – Petro technical data products

Design and implement ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes from various sources, ensuring accurate and reliable data for analysis and decision-making

Expertise in optimizing queries and performance by establishing standards to minimize system workload and costs

Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data and take ownership of data quality for the pipelines

Build and maintain data pipeline design, data model and frameworks that drive Petro technical operational efficiencies

Participates in risk review process and Architecture Review board to ensure data projects align with the organization’s risk management and architecture standards

Ensure consistency of data systems, tools, and architectural best practices across the organization, driving adoption across our teams and systems

Proactively identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvements

Stays current with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in data management, governance, and architecture

Participate and support Agile quarterly planning for the team

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between data architecture and overall IT and business strategies
