This position is to support a US Government project that delivers geospatial mapping and analysis support, ensuring continuous innovation and maintenance through Agile methodologies. The technical solution is built on a modern stack that includes AWS services, ArcGIS for geospatial capabilities, Kubernetes for container orchestration, and Elastic Beanstalk for efficient deployment, ensuring scalability, security, and resilience
- Responsibilities:
- Cluster Management: Design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes clusters across NIPR and SIPR environments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
- Container Orchestration: Implement container orchestration strategies to optimize application deployment and resource utilization.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor cluster performance and health. Diagnose and resolve issues with pods, nodes, and networking.
- CI/CD Integration: Collaborate with DevSecOps engineers to integrate Kubernetes with CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless automated deployments.
- Security and Compliance: Implement security policies for Kubernetes environments, including role-based access control (RBAC), namespace isolation, and vulnerability scans.
- Documentation and Best Practices: Develop technical documentation for Kubernetes environments and provide training to team members on best practices.
- Cloud Integration: Optimize Kubernetes configurations for AWS Cloud One environments, ensuring compliance with DoD standards and impact level certifications (IL5/IL6). Previous experience working with the DoD preferred.
- Technical Refresh Activities: Support updates and technical refresh activities, including container image upgrades and configuration optimizations.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in Kubernetes and containerization technologies.
- Proficiency in Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes tools (e.g., Kubectl, K9s).
- Experience with AWS services and cloud-native technologies.
- Kubernetes certifications (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator [CKA], Certified Kubernetes Application Developer [CKAD]).
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and tools like Jenkins, SonarQube
