Epic Systems Inc. is a rapidly growing technology services company in the Washington DC Metro area.
It has been appraised at level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Certification for Software Development. CMMI is a capability improvement framework that includes software industry best practices such as project management, process management, systems engineering, hardware engineering, software engineering, and other supporting processes used in the development and maintenance of software products and projects.
An appraisal at maturity level 3 indicates that organization is performing at a “defined” level where processes are well characterized and well understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools and methods. The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for maturity level 3, is established and improved over time.
The appraisal was completed by Concept QA Labs in September of 2019 and the certification is valid thru October 2022. Chief Operating Officer, Mouli Nallamala, the torchbearer and innovative leader who has transformed mission critical applications across federal agencies said “ Epic Systems has created agile operating culture and consistently followed software engineering process management programs in our journey of growth, and for winning confidence of our customers. Following this spirit, “Epic Systems is strongly committed to provide highest quality services to our clients, and achieve optimal efficiency through implementation of matured, industry standard CMMI processes that are in alignment with mission critical goals of our customers.”.
CMMI Institute is the global leader in the advancement of best practices in people, process, and technology. The Institute provides the tools and support for organizations to benchmark their capabilities and build maturity by comparing their operations to best practices and identifying performance gaps.
Epic System Inc. was recently recertified for ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems (QMS). The QMS audit conducted was conducted by Concept QA Labs in October of 2020 – extending the validity thru 30th October 2022.
ISO 9001:2015 is an internationally recognized standard based on several quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach, and continual improvement. To prepare for the audit, the Epic Systems technology team spearheaded by CTO Krishna Marreddy conducted a rigorous assessment of Epic System’s existing quality management practices and created a roadmap for alignment with the ISO 9001:2015 standards. Collaborating for over a month with ISO approved auditors from Concept QA Labs, Epic team executed all activities identified in the plan by creating and revising corporate quality management artifacts to cover all phases of the service delivery lifecycle and worked with corporate process owners across the organization to implement the new QMS.
Upon successful re-certification CTO Marreddy remarked “Epic Systems, Inc is pleased on getting re-certified for ISO 9001:2015. Quality is the heartbeat of our project delivery package, and this milestone is an important step towards achieving our vision statement as pioneer of innovative and emerging technologies in the federal space, and in addition winning confidence of our private sector customers as well.”
The ISO 9001:2015 standard is recognized worldwide for quality standards and assures our clients that our management systems are constantly assessed and approved for better quality products and service, reliable production scheduling and delivery, and quality standards are maintained by annual assessments.
Epic Systems Inc. has introduced innovative technologies in the federal space, and the pervasive digital transformation has renewed our focus on “Information Security Management Systems” to adequately protect our IT systems and client data residing within our enterprise systems.
Epic Systems Inc. has been certified as an ISO 27001:2013 Information Security Management (ISMS) company. This certification further enhances our ability to carry out our business with an adequately protected enterprise network and other mandatory security controls, protocols, and procedures.
A visibly happy COO Mr. Nallamala commented that this certification ensures FISMA (Federal Information Security Management Act) and NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) compliance to protect government systems, mitigate vulnerabilities, and improve overall security posture of the agency/client. As ISO 27001 provides an ISMS that is regularly audited, it gives us confidence that our data is secure, and threats are minimized.
